Cuddle Buddies Drive -- 3/1 through 4/1

The St. Rose Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will be running their Sixth Annual "Cuddle Buddies" Drive this Spring on behalf of Kids Care Clubs, a program of HandsOn Network, whose mission is to develop compassion and a spirit of service and philanthropy in elementary and middle school aged youth. The scouts will "Team up for Kids in Foster Care" by supporting the Kids Care Bridgeport Connecticut Rescue Mission. Please help support our Scouts in their effort to collect "gently used" (or new) stuffed animals for children in foster care. The drive will run from March 1st through April 1st. A collection box labeled "Cuddle Buddies" will be placed in the St. Rose Main School (at the entrance to the right near the Lost and Found bin). Stuffed animals should be no more than 2 feet in height please. The St. Rose Scouts thank you in advance for your donations. If you have any questions, please call Michelle DePinto (listed in the school directory).

Remember: All scouts will abide by the Scout Promise:
I promise

To do my best…
the boys get a great feeling as they work hard for their advancements
To do my duty to God…
our Scouts have a great track record of earning Religious Emblems
And my country…
Scouts earn citizenship awards, respect for the flag, etc.
To help other people, and…
Scouts complete service projects
To obey the Law of the Pack…
Scouts must behave well and be respectful during Den and Pack
meetings. Please help us with this by being responsible for them during meetings.

All children must have adults responsible for them, please no drop-offs unless another adult has agreed to watch your child.

Campbell's Cubs Program
Labels for Education!!!
Michelle DePinto has offered to start up a Labels for Education program at St. Rose school!

For those of you familiar with "Box Tops for Education", you already know the principals of this program.

The St. Rose Cub Scouts will be coordinating The Campbell's Cubs fundraising program
for the St. Rose Preschool and Main School beginning in the fall of 2006.

By saving and redeeming Campbell product proofs of purchase from eligible brands,
St. Rose will earn free educational merchandise, such as computers, software, sports equipment,
musical instruments, library books and much more!

The school community can assist by saving proofs of purchase from Campbell products
and placing them into the "Campbell's Cubs" collection jars
which will be located in the lobby of the St. Rose Preschool and Main School beginning Monday, October 2nd.

To be sure if a product is eligible, look for the Labels for Education logo on the label, near the UPC symbol.
St. Rose will redeem the points collected for free merchandise from the Campbell's Labels for Education catalog.

If you have any questions regarding the "Campbell's Cubs" program, please contact Michelle DePinto who is listed in the St. Rose directory.

- STATUS REPORT -

We have already purchased a portable PA system for the main school as well as several educational toys/books for the Pre-School.

We currently have a balance of 11,100 points!!!

Mrs. Maloney has requested that we continue to "bank" the points until the new science lab and video library are established at the main school. Mrs. Maloney has expressed her desire to use the banked points to purchase educational videos that will be used by all grade levels in the main school.

PLEASE: We ask that all families hold onto their labels over the summer and bring them to a pack meeting when school resumes in the fall.
We will then do one batch mailing to Campbell's in the fall -- thanks!!!
