What's Happening:
January 25th 6:15 PM is the Rain Gutter Regatta and Pack Meeting. St. Rose Gathering Hall
The forecast is stormy and cloudy with gusts of wind throughout the night. Gusts of wind generated by Scouts directed downstream which will propel their handmade vessels to the finish line.
We are expecting to experience an unprecedented display of craftsmanship, design and ingenuity as our scouts display their sleuths prior to the race. Much cheering and carrying on is also expected.
January 27th, 5:30 PM is the Pinewood Derby Workshop at Club NewFit, Newtown.
This workshop will take you through the entire process of planning and building your Pinewood Derby Car. You will learn about aerodynamics, drag, potential and kinetic energy, as well as speed secrets and body painting tips.
February 11th, 8 AM is the Pinewood Derby Race at the Newtown Congregational Church
The Pinewood Derby! This is our pack's FUNNEST (is that even a word?) event of the YEAR, possibly of ALL TIME! Please have your scout come in uniform, and don't forget to bring a baked good for the bake sale. The sale of your baked goods helps provide the funding that pays for the use of the hall. Remember, the times for your check in and race will be on the website http://www.pack570.org. Please be sure to be there 30 minutes before your race starts to allow for check in, weigh in, and impound. Don't forget to wear your uniform! Our Pinewood Crew Chief Tom Tavar will be keeping you all posted as to the details of the race - like NO GRAPHITE IN THE BUILDING. All graphite must be applied outside.
March 3rd is the Blue and Gold Dinner, St. Rose Gathering Hall
The annual Blue and Gold Dinner where our Arrow of Light Candidates typically cross over to Boy Scouts and our Rank Badges and many other awards are given out.
This year we have a real treat for you in the entertainment department.

Remember: All scouts will abide
by the Scout Promise:
I promise
To do my best… the boys get
a great feeling as they work hard for their advancements
To do my duty to God… our
Scouts have a great track record of earning Religious Emblems
And my country… Scouts
earn citizenship awards, respect for the flag, etc.
To help other people, and… Scouts
complete service projects
To obey the Law of the Pack… Scouts
must behave well and be respectful during Den and Pack
meetings. Please help us with this by
being responsible for them during meetings.
All children must have adults responsible for them, please no drop-offs unless
another adult has agreed to watch your child.
