Pack 570 Awarded
National Gold Medallion
2nd Consecutive Year!
For the second year in a row, St. Rose of Lima Cub Scout Pack 570 was awarded the National Gold Medallion by the National Catholic Committee on Scouting (NCCS). Pack 570 was the only pack in New England honored with this award, which recognizes excellence in traditional scouting activities like outdoor programs, as well as religious activities.
There is only one of these awards handed out in Region 1 which covers Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Maine. In the back row, from left, Michelle Depinto, Newtown Bear Den Leader; Michael Cote, NCCS Committee Member; Ed Wolf, religious awards coordinator and Donna Lock, Newtown Webelos II leader joined with Tom DeMeglio, Newtown assistant cubmaster, Arthur Keegan, NCCS chairman, Reverend Bob Weiss, and Jeff DePinto, Newtown Cubmaster celebrated the award at the Newtown Boy Scouts Blue and Gold dinner.
